  • How do I register for UPrepare?

    Click on Registration in the top navigation. Please fill out the registration form on this site and click on "Register". You will be informed via email as soon as your account is activated in general within 48 hours.

  • What do I need to be aware of when choosing a user name and password?

    Your password needs to be at least 8 characters long! Please do not use umlaute or certain special characters that are not common in the German language. Only Latin character set and numerals are permitted.

  • I'm having difficulty registering online. What should I do?

    Simply send us an e-mail describing the problem you are experiencing to: uprepare@uni-potsdam.de.

  • How long will it take to activate my user account?

    As every registration needs to be reviewed before they are activated, it may take up to 48 hours until your account is approved. Therefore, please be patient. Keep in mind that requests received on holidays or on weekends might take longer to process.

  • How do I login?

    There is a login box on the home page. Enter your username and password, and click Login to enter your account.

  • I have forgotten my password. What should I do?

    Please go to the login field on the home page and click Forgot your password?. Enter your username and the e-mail address with which you registered. Make sure to spell your e-mail address correctly. Click Send. A link, where you can reset your password will be sent to you immediately.

  • How can I change my personal data?

    You can make changes to your personal data (your mailing address, for example) at any time. Exempt from change, however, is your username. After logging in, click on Personal Data in the navigation bar top right. Clear the old data and supply new information in the respective boxes. Click Save

  • How can I register for the monthly newsletter?

    Please go to Personal Data, select Newsletter and then click Save.

  • Which browser should I use to get the most from UPrepare?

    UPrepare is optimized for MS Internet Explorer 9 and above versions, Firefox, Google Chrome and Opera 25 and above versions. JavaScript has to be activated (ECMAScript >= 5.1).

  • How do I activate Java Script?

    Activating JavaScript functions differently depending on your browser. If are using Internet Explorer 9, click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options. Click the Advanced tab. If Java is installed, there will be a Java section in the Settings list. To enable Java, select the option under Java. To disable Java, clear the option under Java. When you are finished, click OK. For Firefox: click the Tools button, and then click Preferences. Click the Security tab and then click the checkbox next to Activate JavaScript. When you are finished, click OK.

  • How can I view files that are downloadable from UPrepare?

    To read PDF files you will need to download the Acrobat reader software here.

  • How do I find information on a certain topic?

    You can use the search engine to locate information. Enter your query in the search box on the top right hand of the screen and click Search. Be aware of the language switch. If you search with a German keyword, make sure that you've switched to the German language version of UPrepare.
